Mark Pellizzer better known by his stage name Mark Pelli, is a Canadian musician, singer, songwriter and record producer. He was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada on June 14, 1980. He is best known for being a guitarist, keyboardist,vocalist and co-founder for the pop-reggae group MAGIC!. The group’s debut single “Rude” hit Number 1 on the US Hot 100 Billboard Charts and remained there for 6 weeks after having reached number 1 in many territories around the world.Pelli currently resides in Los Angeles, California.
Pelli started piano lessons at age 6 and took to it immediately. He picked up the guitar at 13 and began performing extensively around Toronto in many different groups of contrasting genres. He started producing and engineering albums at 16 while working at various studios. He studied classical piano at York University under the late, great Antonin Kubalek and then switched to jazz guitar at the University of Toronto where he studied with the virtuoso, David Occhipinti.
He has collaborated with a number of well-known artists. He worked with The Messengers to produce the song “Don’t Judge Me” for Chris Brown in 2012 which hit #1 on U.S. Urban chart, #18 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart and 67 on the Billboard Top 100 chart. He co-produced/wrote the song Cut Me Deep for Shakira. He co-wrote the song Inner Ninja for the Canadian rapper Classified which hit number 5 in Canada and was 5x Platinum. He co-produced/wrote the song Serial Killer for Trey Songz. And co wrote/produced and mixed the song Coming Home for Anthony Hamilton ,the song Fix You for Vita Chambers. He has also worked in the studio with Usher, Jennifer Lopez, JoJo and Marsha Ambrosius. He collaborated with Kiprich to produce and feature on the song “My Own Holiday” in the year 2014. And in August 2015, he announced a collaboration with artist Major Myjah, to produce the song “Disposable” off Major Myjah’s new EP titled “Trouble.” Most recently he co-wrote, produced and mixed most of Sabrina Claudio’s debut EP titled: “Confidently Lost” including: “Too Much Too Late”, “I Won’t”, “Tell Me”, “Runnin’ Thru Lovers”, “Confidently Lost”, and the acoustic version of “Tell Me.” In 2018, Pelli worked with T-Minus to produce J.Cole‘s song titled “Kevin’s Heart.”
Mark performs regularly around Los Angeles and Las Vegas area. He is currently the musical director for Sabrina Claudio. In 2020, Mark released two songs “She’s Got What I Need” and “You’re My Home” as a double A-side. Although influenced by numerous musical genres, Pelli’s music has a through-line of melodic/harmonic intensity and passion as well as instrumental and lyrical dept.
