A familiar face to concertgoers, Terrian joined TobyMac’s Diverse City band in 2017. She was born and raised in Memphis, where she has rooted herself in community and mentorship being part of AngelStreet Memphis, an organization that mentors girls through musical training in areas with limited artistic opportunities while empowering them to understand their value, discover their purpose, and become creative leaders.
Over the past four years, she has developed her own unique style and sound with songs such as “God With Us,” “In The Arms” and “Let Love Lead.” She has also been featured on songs with TobyMac, Aaron Cole, Matt Maher and Stu G. In 2020, Terrian released the song “Let Love Lead,” which was featured by Spotify in its Black Lives Matter playlist. She was one of just two Christian and gospel artists to have music featured.
The song amassed over 4 million streams on Spotify in just 10 months and received the highest single-day Spotify stream record for any Gotee artist that year. Also in 2020, Terrian co-hosted the Dove Awards pretelecast with Ellie Holcolmb and performed a special Christmas music for the GMA’s #LoveGoesViral Christmas Concert Series. She now serves with AngelStreet as a mentor to young girls and advocate for our nonprofit.
Terrian was the only Christian music & Gospel music artist selected as one of Pandora’s Artists to Watch in 2021, and is one of just two to be featured in the last five years.Terrian released her debut song, “God With Us”, in 2019.
The music video has since surpassed three million views on YouTube. It was followed by “In The Arms”, co-written by Terrian and Anthony Skinner, Jon Reddick and songwriter Jess Cates, and was produced by Micah Kuiper and Bryan Fowler. She was also featured on TobyMac’s remix album The St. Nemele Collab Sessions on the track, “It’s You (Tide Electric Remix)” with Matt Maher. In addition to Terrian joined Cochren & Co. on the “TobyMac Theatre Tour”.
Her third lead single, “Let Love Lead”, was released on February 14, 2020. Laid back and led by the electric guitar, the subdued and reflective “Let Love Lead” is anything but in terms of its lyrics, as the intense hard hitting nature is visible from the get go- with TERRIAN fervently highlighting the importance and the need for real active love to be present in our lives. Lyrically the song reminds me of 1 Corinthians 13, as TERRIAN ardently sings out that we must let God’s love light our way in every decision we make, no matter how difficult the path may seem.
Followed by “You Still Do” which was released on May 15, 2020.She release her first EP, Genesis of Terrian, in 2021. The EP, produced by Kyle Williams and Darren Mulligan of We Are Messengers, features six songs including “I’m In Love (w/ Ian Alxndr),” “Love Your Children,” “Stayed On Him (Isaiah 26:3),” and the current single, “Light It Up,” which is currently No. 2 on the Billboard Christian Hot AC/CHR Chart and top 50 on the Billboard Christian Airplay Chart.
Hitting the top spot on the Billboard Christian Hot AC/CHR Chart, “Light It Up” was co-written by Terrian, GabeReal of TobyMac’s DiverseCity Band, and Darren Mulligan and Kyle Williams of We Are Messengers. Mulligan and William also produced the EP.
Then Terrian Drops New Single & Music Video ‘Love Your Children’ on February 26,2021, along with the new music video directed by Diego Brawn. “I wrote this song thinking about a friend who didn’t grow up in a stable home. I’ve seen how it’s affected this person’s life as we’ve grown older. A lot would be different if the parents were loving and nurturing. However, they weren’t in a position to give that. Then, compassion came and had me wondering what their parents were like. The heart of this song is breaking the cycle and speaking of how far loving your children goes. More times than not, it brings the better outcome.” —Terrian
